For the past thirteen
years, Jabba, working alongside veteran DJ Bobby Konders, has been a
significant force in the dancehall reggae music scene where he has
achieved significant milestones as a DJ, radio host, actor, promoter,
and artist. A founding member of Massive B, one of the leading East
Coast sound systems, Jabba, 29, has helped put dancehall reggae on the
mainstream map making the Massive B sound highly sought out in the
United States, Europe, Asia, and Caribbean. In addition to his
international audience, Jabba has received the recognition of the Hip
Hop community for his sheer talent and for successfully bridging hip
hop with dancehall reggae – a feat never before achieved by any sound
system!
As a radio
personality, Jabba can be heard in the tri-state area every Sunday
from 10pm – 1am on WQHT’s Hot 97.1 "On the Reggae Tip". He can also
be heard by millions of listeners throughout the world via the
internet at
http://www.massiveb.com/web_radio/ and at Sirius Satellite
radio “Reggae Rhythms” on channel 30. Jabba is also known for his
highly anticipated “Jabba Strikes Back” birthday party where he
showers his fans with fur coats, airplane tickets, jewelry, and
furniture. More recently, Jabba has received billboard status for his
collaboration with Nina Sky in the song “Move Your Body” - one of the
top-charting hits of 2004.
Jabba’s talent,
however, doesn’t end in the recording studio. In 2002, Jabba was
involved in the blockbuster scene with his lead role in the movie
“Shottas” co-starring Ky-mani Marley, Wyclef Jean and Spragga Benz. A story about
two young men growing up in the crime ridden streets of Kingston,
Jamaica, Jabba played the lead character of “Dangles” who was an
assistant to a crime lord in the movie. This movie has received
critical acclaim in the West Indian community and has paved the way
for Jabba’s acting career.
Currently, Jabba is
at work on projects that include collaboration with several major
artists who enjoy working with such a dynamic and talented
personality. |
